Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy is remembering America's deadly year of gun violence, one tweet at a time.

Using data from shootingtracker.com and Reddit, the Democrat is tweeting details of each mass shooting that happened in 2015.

"For my 2015 year in review I’m listing all of them - every injury and every death in every mass shooting this past year," Murphy tweeted Thursday.

Murphy, who supports stronger gun-control laws, has been vocal on the issue of gun violence since the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School that left 26 people dead, including 20 children.

Here’s my 2015 year in review.— Chris Murphy (@ChrisMurphyCT) December 31, 2015

2015 started in the early hours of January 1st when 5 people were shot on a New Year’s Eve party bus in Memphis.— Chris Murphy (@ChrisMurphyCT) December 31, 2015

The next day, another mass shooting (defined as at least 4 people shot, including the shooter) in Savannah Georgia.— Chris Murphy (@ChrisMurphyCT) December 31, 2015

Murphy also slammed Congress for its inaction guns, writing in one tweet that while "America is shaken by a summer filled with gun violence...Congress continues its inaction."

He has said that lawmakers' silence on the issue of gun violence makes them "complicit" in the violence that has gripped the country.

The gun debate remains entrenched and polarized on Capitol Hill. Efforts by President Obama's White House and Democrats in Congress to push ahead with new gun control and safety measures have come up short. President Obama, though, is expected to release new executive actions on gun control next week ahead of his final State of the Union address on Jan. 12.
