Like Ben Stiller's character running to save the day in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, holiday revelers ran to theaters to save themselves from boredom on Christmas Day.

Among the Dec. 25 releases, Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street attracted the most moviegoers, finishing No. 2 with a $9.2 million pull at the Christmas Day box office in North America -- behind Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug ($9.3 million).

Also making their holiday debuts were fantasy drama The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (above); Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro's boxing comedy Grudge Match; the star-studded dramedy August: Osage County; Keanu Reeves' samurai action flick 47 Ronin; and Mark Wahlberg's war drama Lone Survivor.

Here are trailers for the top 10 films at the Christmas Day box office:

1. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug ($9.3 million)

2. The Wolf of Wall Street ($9.2 million)

3. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues ($8.1 million)

4. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty ($7.8 million)

5. American Hustle ($7.4 million)

6. 47 Ronin ($7.1 million)

7. Frozen ($6.3 million)

8. Saving Mr. Banks ($5.1 million)

9. Grudge Match ($4 million)

10. Tyler Perry’s a Madea Christmas ($2.9 million)
