Lauren Mayberry is not someone you want to mess with.
During a recent 'Chvrches' gig at Central Park's Summerstage, the Scottish lead singer gave a sharp retort to an audience member who randomly decided to shout: "Marry me! Marry me now!"
"Oh, come on," replied Mayberry. "What's the hit rate on that? ...When you go into public places and ask women you don't know if they want to wed you... does that work out well for you sir?"
"I assume because you're here that you know about our band," continued Mayberry. "I'm very grumpy, and I don't want that shit."
