THE PRISONERS

From 2002 until 2008, the CIA detained at least 119 people, according to the so-called CIA torture report, though, as the report points out, poor record-keeping and the agency's lack of transparency might obscure a much higher number. Of the 119 prisoners named in the report, 39 were subjected to "enhanced interrogation techniques" — or torture — which include "techniques" such as waterboarding, forced "rectal feeding, prolonged isolation and/or sleep deprivation. 15 of the detainees are still being held in the U.S. military base of Guantanamo, Cuba. Information on many other detainees is limited. Some people were freed, some were transferred to custody in other countries and some were freed.
