You couldn't have had 2012 without GIFs (no really, without them the year would just vanish into cultural oblivion).
And while the animated bits of filmography were left to the bloggers and tech types at first, apps like Cinemagram brought GIFing to the masses. And with the revolution came little gems of video brillance to fill our lives and Tumblrs.
