Zynga's CityVille Comes To Life With Kre-O Line

CityVille buildings aren’t just digital, now. The game is taking a step into the real world in the form of a new line of Kre-O blocks.

The newest product from a partnership between Hasbro and Zynga, the blocks are inspired by Zynga’s CityVille Invasion app for the iPhone that was released last month.

In the mobile game, a villain named Dr. Mayhem has invaded CityVille, and it’s up to you to defend the city.

The blocks are real-world versions of the buildings in the game, and range from a gorilla trying to climb a skyscraper to a lab for a secret scientist.

The blocks also use Sonic Motion Technology, allowing some pieces of each set to move around. We’ve had a few sets of the blocks in Mashable's San Francisco office for the past week, and while the motion isn’t necessarily something to write home about -- it’s more shuffling than actually moving around -- it is neat to see your creation come to life.

CityVille’s Kre-O blocks aren’t the first time Zynga’s games have gone analog. Last year, the company released a series of board games based on some of its most popular titles. CityVille was made into a Monopoly-type game, while Draw Something mimicked Pictionary and Words With Friends imitated Scrabble.

CityVille Invasion is now available for free in the App Store, and the Kre-O block sets can be purchased in store.
