Solid color clothes? As if!
There are reportedly 53 types of plaid in Clueless, but we counted way more than that.
We watched the entire movie, and painstakingly pulled out all the plaid looks from the movie, counting 163 total.
Either they grossly underestimated the amount of plaid used in Clueless, or the costume designer just lucked out when all of the extras chose to dress in basically the same way. Another possibility: We're just seeing plaid everywhere at this point. Any and all options are possible.
Despite the movie's jumbled mess of patterns and blurred lines, we noticed even the most clandestine plaids, marking them with arrows like a football coach hurriedly making plays. White arrows denote definite plaid, while red ones imply uncertainty.
