Here is a very interesting and useful widget from the CO2Stats Project: a widget that will calculate your blog or website's carbon footprint. It does this by determining the total electricity usage of your reader's computers while they're hanging out on your blog or website.
While one way to actually help the larger issue would be to encourage your users to live a more green lifestyle, you can make a direct impact on your own by buying carbon credits through the Sustainable Travel International Organization. This is kind of like planting a virtual tree of sorts--you're essentially donating to the cause. Based on your blog or website's carbon footprint, you can offset all or half with the purchase of carbon credits. Won't that make you feel better?
