Coach Awards Scholarship to Dedicated Player in Touching Video

Missing out on feel-good sports moments lately? Look no further, thanks to Northwestern basketball coach Chris Collins and the YouTube video, above.

The touching clip shows Coach Collins surprising Wildcats walk-on James Montgomery by awarding him a full scholarship in front of all his teammates. In college sports, walk-ons are players who try out for, and make the team, but aren't deemed worthy of qualifying for a scholarship. So Montgomery went from paying his own way over the past two seasons to having all his books and tuition taken care of this year.

The team's group hug with Montgomery is pretty special, but the video's best part comes a little later, when Montgomery calls his overjoyed mom and sister to share the news.

Between this and football coach Pat Fitzgerald answering a reporter's iPhone during a press conference last month, Northwestern coaches are making some very solid Internet lately.
