Last year, Coldplay's video shooting and impromptu gig in India had surprised many fans. Turns out that the band had asked Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor to star in their forthcoming music video "Hymn for the Weekend", which also features vocals by Beyoncé.

Coldplay is likely to have shot the music video during their India visit in September. While the band posted photographs of a Holi festival sequence on Twitter, Kapoor shot for the video in Mumbai's Worli area and Vasai Fort. The actress reportedly plays a mystical muse and was styled in Indian wear by her sister Rhea Kapoor.

"I love Coldplay's music and so does the world. It was a huge honour to be a part of the video. It's a great concept and I had a lot of fun shooting for it," the actress told reporters. The song is the second single for Coldplay's seventh album A Head Full of Dreams, and a follow-up to its first song, "Adventure of a Lifetime".
