The new Coldplay album features a lot of guest stars. Frontman Chris Martin told The Wall Street Journal that ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, the couple's two children, Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Carter all have features on A Head Full of Dreams, out December 4.

"What I’m trying to learn in my life is the value of every human. Inclusiveness is the key thing," he told WSJ.

So, because Martin and Paltrow's kids, Apple and Moses, were around when he was making the album -- as was Paltrow -- he asked them to sing on it. Bey was formally invited to sing on the record, Martin said; the band invited Blue Ivy, her daughter, to contribute while she hung around the studio. The three-year-old is already a music industry vet; she was credited on father Jay-Z's "Glory" just two days after her birth.

Mostly, Martin's just into having a huge choir of people give his songs a thumbs up with their vocals.

"It comes from learning about Greek tragedy, where the chorus chimes in at times," Martin explained. "To me, when we use that sound, it’s to affirm what I’m saying. 'We agree with you, Chris. Keep singing.'”

He's not ruling out incorporating "consciously uncouple" into his lyrics, either.

"I didn’t invent that phrase, but I love it," he said. "Everything’s a good lyric if you have the right beat."

The band has also announced a world tour supporting the album, which kicks off in spring 2016.
