Comedy Central has launched its first stand-alone, political humor site, Indecision2008. This site is integrated with the larger Comedy Central community.

Here, users can watch video clips related to the 2008 election coming straight from "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." Also included will be clips from "The Colbert Report" and "Lil' Bush," and a blog written by a character named The InDecider, all of which can be subscribed to. The site will also have several widgets offering up fact data from the campaign, like the number of Google hits for a candidates name, another for forums, and a fantasy game as well as other user-generated content. All sorts of other goodies are available from InDecision2008 as well, such as wallpaper and instant messenger icons.

Otherwise, this spoof of a site is definitely one great way for Viacom to capitalize the popularity of a concept from a collection of television shows, as well as the monetization of an infrequently occurring event that is gaining steam with its web presence, all while engaging fans in a new way that lends to legally viral behavior in its efforts to defy the YouTube effect.
