Companies Can't Stop Employees From Pirating

According to a survey of 1000 British computer managers, conducted by ICM, most companies think that downloading music is a threat that may result in viruses, which may lead to fraud, which in turn may lead to damage to the company. And then the managers might end up getting fired.

However, most are either unable or choose not to do much about it. The survey found that two thirds of IT managers don't block employees from downloading music off the internet.

Besides music, other perceived threats are social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Bebo.

Of course, we all know that this is because most of those computer managers are leeching ten times more data than regular employees, and they don't want to lose their uber BitTorrent ratios. And, when the boss asks why he's getting all those weird e-mails from the RIAA and MPAA, they can always point to "that weird guy who works in the tiny office on 3rd floor and never talks to anyone".
