Cute alert: U.S. President Barack Obama has met Internet celebrity Keyboard Cat in a Google+ Hangout.

We wish this adorable encounter were true, but it's only a segment from Conan. Poking fun at Obama's actual Jan. 30 Hangout, the Conan crew took a scene featuring an Obama impersonator from the Hangout and swapped him out with an orange tabby cat Fatso a.k.a. Keyboard Cat.

You can watch the real scene in the video below at the 43:31 mark, at which time YouTube's head of news and politics, Steve Grove, introduces the impersonator.

The Hangout -- aired on the White House's newly created Google+ page -- was Obama's first. It attracted more than 227,000 questions from YouTube users, five of which were invited to participate in the Hangout. No stranger to social media-related Q&As, Obama previously took part in town halls for Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter audiences. Additionally, YouTube moderated interviews with Obama in 2010 and 2011.

Obama joined Google+ on Nov. 23 and has accumulated more than 350,000 followers as of Wednesday. Obama's entry onto the platform added to the president’s already extensive social media presence. He also recently joined Tumblr and Instagram.

Keyboard Cat, on the other hand (or paw), has been around since 1984 and became a viral hit in 2007 after a clip was uploaded to YouTube. That video now has 21 million views. Keyboard Cat's spirit lives on through various spoofs and even in travel search website Hipmunk’s first TV commercial.
