What would Starbucks look like if its executives travelled through a time warp and commissioned Frida Kahlo to design its logo?

An art project from Philippines-based artist Eisen Bernardo provides as good a guess as any. The collection, featured on Bernardo's Tumblr page Mag+Art, pairs iconic logos with fitting works of classic art to lend a new fine-art aesthetic to the most commercial of artistic undertakings.

Barbie looks introspective and serene as portrayed by Piero di Cosimo's portrait of Simonetta Vespucci. Jesus deftly dribbles a basketball in the NBA logo. And Napoleon rears his battle steed to fit the silhouette of Ferrari's prancing horse.

Bernardo's other work includes similar Photoshopping endeavors like mash-ups of celebrity magazine covers with famous art and an entire deck of Beyonce as the muses and goddesses of museum-worthy paintings.

With much of the world's great art lapsed into the public domain, maybe marketing execs should ditch the pricey graphics and start perusing the Louvre.
