Neil DeGrasse Tyson Reboots Carl Sagan's 'Cosmos' in Comic-Con Trailer

Space: the final frontier — these will be the voyages of Neil deGrasse Tyson. The popular astrophysicist is taking his talents to Fox and National Geographic to host a new 13-episode series, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.

The series, slated for spring 2014, is a reboot of Carl Sagan's PBS hit Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, which aired more than 30 years ago.

The trailer, above, debuted at Comic-Con in San Diego. It shows deGrasse Tyson in a modern version of Sagan's spacecraft, and also gives a sneak peek at prospective story lines in the form of live-action, animation and CGI sequences.

Seth MacFarlane, as well as Sagan's widow Ann Druyan, are attached as executive producers. Druyan is also reportedly a writer for the new episodes.
