LONDON - It seems as though time has done a "Rewind" and Craig David is back at the top of his game.

The singer has been popping up on radio and in various places recently and he even covered Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" (and it might be better than the original).

But now the hitmaker's comeback is official business. He has signed a recording contract with Insanity Records - a joint venture with Sony Music UK - via independent company Speakerbox.

His recent single "When the Bassline Drops," which features Big Narstie, became his first Top 20 hit in almost 10 years.

David, who is preparing to drop his first album after six years, shared the news about his new deal on social media.

Discussing the next steps in his career, he said: "Throughout my career, my management team have had my back and been by my side, helping me develop my ideas and bring them to fruition.

"Together with JEM Artists, I’m really excited to be working on my new album with such quality people at Insanity, Speakerbox and Sony Music UK, whose enthusiasm and willingness to back me and my music is incredible!"

The 34-year-old's first album in 2000 went platinum in multiple countries and featured hits like "Fill Me In" and "7 Days."
