Another December day, another nomination announcement: The Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association jointly announced the nominees for this year's annual Critics' Choice Awards, which will be broadcast live on Jan. 17 on A&E, Lifetime and LMN -- one week after the 73rd annual Golden Globes.
Mad Max: Fury Road, which also received a passel of Globe nominations, was first among movies with 13 nods. Following closely behind were Carol, The Martian and The Revenant, three very different films that each managed to get nine nominations apiece.
Meanwhile, Fargo led the TV nominations with eight nods; The Leftovers and Transparent followed with six each. ABC, FX and HBO were tied for most nominations by network; all three got 14 nods.
