Google Music's $1.99 promotion applies to fresh albums from Coldplay, Rihanna, Drake, Justin Bieber, David Guetta, Mary J. Blige, LMFAO, Florence and the Machine, Lady Antebullum and other artists. The deal also includes A Very Gaga Holiday, which features songs from Lady Gaga's A Very Gaga Thanksgiving TV special.
The music store and cloud storage service, which left beta and went live Nov. 16, is similar to Amazon Cloud Player and iTunes Match in that it lets users purchase and upload other files to the cloud. Amazon reduced prices on Cyber Monday to as low as $4.99 per album.
Cloud music services in the past have offered steep sales to bring in more users. In May, for example, people who bought Lady Gaga's Born This Way album for $0.99 through Amazon also scored 20 GB of cloud storage.
