Every year, the infamously tiny (and completely creepy) Elf on the Shelf somehow manages to attract international attention. While the Elf on the Shelf has already made headlines multiple times in the past month, father-of-four Joe Stynberg recently decided to outdo us all.

He strapped on a tiny costume, threw on a silly hat, and went undercover as "Elf on the Shelf."

The results were … well, you can see you for yourself.

Stynberg, along with his wife, Megan Stynberg, had been seeing "Elf on the Shelf" photos being posted everywhere. So the two decided it would be hilarious if they did a human elf on the shelf – and the photos quickly went viral.

Joe, who calls his Elf character "Fle," began showing up in some “pretty precarious spots.” As the days went on, Fle became more and more …. confident in his appearance, as Megan’s captions became increasingly alarmist.

“Fle is out of control …. I need to find my receipt. Couldn’t handle those advent calendars he ate last night. Today is the second after all,” she wrote.

The elf is officially off the shelf.
