Although Geof Grubb's one-year-old daughter is forced to wear an eye patch for a few hours each day, the Illinois father finds a way to make it enjoyable for everyone.

Layla has a small cataract in one of her eyes, so she wears an eye patch on her good eye in order to strengthen the other. While she must wear the patch, Grubb makes it a little more fun by drawing on them, creating custom patches.

Layla has been wearing her patches for two hours each day for the last eight months, and fortunately, Grubb tells Mashable that her vision has been developing very well.

Grubb's custom eye patches first gained attention after he submitted them to Reddit in December, but his updated gallery hit the front page again on Tuesday shortly after posting it.

Although her patches may have gone viral, Layla is still just a normal toddler. "We try to keep it part of her regular routine so it bothers her less," says Grubb. "After all these months, most days she doesn't even notice it."

As for their favorites, Grubb likes the Calvin and Hobbes patch best, but adds that Layla's favorite is "when she gets to take it off."
