Damon Lindelof, co-creator of the series Lost, didn’t need to go down “the rabbit hole that is TED” in order to pick his favorite talks.

The co-writer of the movie Prometheus, which featured a TEDTalk from the year 2023, explains, “Why these talks? Well, truth be told, there are probably a couple dozen more on this list, but I didn't want to dilute the impact of those I remembered off the top of my head. These are the ones that stayed with me. That I watched more than once. That I felt were truly original, impactful, entertaining and emotional. These talks transcended the message and highlighted the messenger ... and in the immortal words of Roy Neary from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, they mean something. I have forwarded these talks to friends with hopes of not only expanding their own horizons, but in stimulating future conversation (and yes, debate!) amongst us. It sounds disingenuous to say that an 18-minute talk given by a complete stranger can have a profound impact on how one thinks, feels and acts ... I am a better person for having listened to these talks and it is an honor to pimp them as hard as I can.
