On the road to proving that he's more than just Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe has built up an impressive resume: he's played Allen Ginsberg, he's done a horror movie, and now, he's portraying the creator of Grand Theft Auto.

In the trailer for the BBC Two film The Gamechangers, Radcliffe goes head-to-head with a Christian lawyer to advocate for one of the most controversial video games ever.

Radcliffe plays Sam Houser, the British Rockstar Games co-founder who goes up against Jack Thompson, an American attorney who tries to bring down the production of violent, sexually explicit Grand Theft Auto.

As you can see in the trailer, Bill Paxton's Thompson is adamant that the games demonstrate the "little regard these Brits have for the welfare of our children."

The film itself, it seems, was not immune to the controversy on which it centers itself -- Rockstar Games moved to take legal action against the BBC for the film's trademark infringement earlier this year, saying that the developer "has had no involvement with this project" and wanted to "ensure that [its] trademarks are not misused." Yikes.

The Gamechangers will premiere on BBC2 on September 15 at 9 p.m. GMT.
