Let us cut to the chase: See this as soon as possible, before it gets taken down.

Over the years, there has been no shortage of Star Wars fan films attempting to capture the magic of the real film franchise. And while this film falls short of a true Hollywood-level film work, Darth Maul: Apprentice might be the best Star Wars fan film I’ve ever seen.

Posted on YouTube on Saturday, the 18-minute film starts with a member of the Sith monitoring events across the universe via a holographic display. But that’s just where the impressive special effects begin. The short film includes space flight, forest drones and an incredibly epic lightsaber battle. I won't spoil it for you, but there are things in the film I've wanted to see in a real Star Wars film for a long time (hint: lightsaber stuff).
