David Bowie pulled no punches calling out MTV for ignoring black artists in 1983

Since news of David Bowie's death emerged on Sunday, there has been international appreciation for the singer's various contributions to music and society. One of his old interviews that's resurfaced is this 1983 video.

In the clip, Bowie asks presenter Mark Goodman why MTV does not showcase many black artists.
