America, David Koch wants to tell you he is not that David Koch.

Australian David Koch (pronounced "Cosh") is in fact a morning television presenter who goes by the name "Kochie." He has written a book of dad jokes and considers himself a finance god to Australians.

American David Koch (pronounced "Coke") is a billionaire, has a brother named Charles and is a financial god to the Republican Party.

The Koch Brothers plan on injecting some $900 million (A$1.3 billion) through their network to back conservative politics in the lead up the 2016 presidential election, and some people are not happy about it. Unfortunately for the Australian David Koch, he is the one being targeted by the haters, as mega rich David Koch doesn't seem to have a Twitter account.

On Wednesday, Kochie had had enough. He took to Twitter to say that while he was honoured to be nominated for Nickelodeon's "Old Fart" award, he is definitely not a Koch brother. He reckons he is just an "Aussie Bloke." Don't be modest, Kochie.

The TV star begged Americans to do him a favour and unfollow him so he can get back to tweeting about early morning shenanigans on Channel 7's Sunrise, and sending sweet nothings to his legions of fans.

To all Americans... I know the primaries have started. BUT I AM NOT A KOCH BROS. I'm an Aussie bloke. Unfollow me. https://t.co/tqPgNA5uoJ— david koch (@kochie_online) February 2, 2016

The sudden outburst follows a barrage of tweets from supporters and critics of David Koch -- the billionaire not the dad jokes guy -- on the social media platform.

@MSNBC @Koch_Industries @kochie_online Please don't give money to Marco Rubio. His absentee/voting record is the worst in Senate.— Nancieliña (@8rareddy) February 1, 2016

We reckon Kochie should just quit complaining and run for president. The writing's on the wall.
