10 festive photos of Day of the Dead celebrations

Even though it means "Day of the Dead," Día de los Muertos is a joyful holiday for families to honor their ancestors, and celebrate life.

Day of the Dead is widespread throughout Latin America, but is most closely associated with Mexico, where it originated. Families pay respect to their loved ones with gorgeous ofrendas, or altars, while children enjoy delicious treats like sugar skulls.
