YouTube Video Shows DC Metro Train Operator Texting

This is certainly not what the Washington DC Metro would want to have out there, but it’s yet another example of the availability of video cameras on cell phones and YouTube capturing public employees behaving badly.

The video shows a Metro train operator text messaging during operation, a clear violation of policy and incredibly eerie considering the fatal crash that occurred on the Metro last month. Although that incident hasn’t been blamed on texting, a crash last year in Los Angeles involved the train operator texting just moments before a deadly collision.

According to Fox News, the DC train operator caught in the act (who also admitted to it) was suspended for five days without pay when the video surfaced.
