Deaf NFL Player's Inspiring Story Makes for Powerful Ad

The Seattle Seahawks are one win away from Super Bowl XLVIII, thanks in part to the contributions of fullback Derrick Coleman.

But Coleman isn't just a bruising blocker who sometimes runs with the ball. He's also the NFL's only current deaf player, and just the third deaf player in league history.

As you can imagine, Coleman has had to overcome plenty of doubters and naysayers to get where he is today. It's an inspiring story of perseverance, dedication and success -- one that Duracell evidently thinks makes for effective advertising.

Duracell's "Trust Your Power" ad featuring Coleman hit YouTube late last week. It's feel-good, indeed--but does it make you want to buy batteries? That's a different question.

One thing that's not a question, however? The spot's popularity online; it's already racked up more than 1.9 million views since Friday.
