Del.icio.us has just previewed a completely overhauled site design at a gathering earlier this week, flaunting an even cleaner layout and simplified format, according to Silicon Alley Insider. The company has been talking about making these changes for some time now, but at least the domain http://www.delicious.com now redirects to del.icio.us. But more importantly, Del.icio.us is dropping the periods. That should make it way, way easier for me to type. ;) Delicious. There. I did it. Way easier.
So back to the revamped site design. From the looks of the screen shot, the tags on the home page will soon be removed. I found the tags to be helpful, but I suppose having tags displayed in this manner is a tad outdated. To aid in better circular navigation and cover up for the missing tags, it also looks like del.icio.us will be adding some additional search and sort features, for an easy process of filtering items on a page, and finding items according to the manner in which you're accustomed. That includes bookmarks, tags, URL, popularity, etc.
