deliGoo: Custom Google Search for del.icio.us

deliGoo is a new add-on for Firefox 2.0+ and Internet Explorer 6.0+ that allows you to search for specific content within a specific user's del.icio.us bookmarks or within a specific del.icio.us tag. The service then uses Google Custom Search to deliver the results. The idea makes sense for highly active del.icio.us users, as it lets you search your thousands of bookmarks for a specific item you’re trying to remember.

Via the integration with Google Custom Search, deliGoo also looks at the content of your bookmarked pages, so you can enter in only a word or two from the item you are trying to find and get the right result. Additionally, it may mean users can spend less time tagging their content, since deliGoo allows you to search your bookmarks content instead of browsing by tag.

The only downside of deliGoo searches is that they do take a long time – up to one-minute in testing of popular terms and tags like “Britney Spears” and “VMA Awards.” However, the service claims that upon a second search of the same terms, the results will be rendered much quicker. It's an interesting attempt worth a look for active del.icio.us users.
