LAS VEGAS -- Laptops are going 4K, and Dell's Inspiron laptops are some of the first to make the jump.
The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 offers an option for 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160). Powering that experience is a fifth-generation "Broadwell" Core processor, along with Intel HD Graphics. If you plan on doing serious graphics work or gaming, there's also an option for an AMD Radeon R7 M20 GPU.

You can configure the 4K Inspiron with up to 16GB of RAM, and storage options go up to 1TB -- although that's with hard-disk storage, not an SSD.
With a 15.6-inch, this isn't exactly an Ultrabook: The laptop weighs up to 4.68 pounds (that's with a 4K touchscreen), and it's 0.78 of an inch thick. There's an HDMI output, a pair of USB 3.0 ports and an SD card slot.
Dell is also launching an Inspiron 15 5000 model. Although there's no 4K option for that one (it maxes out at full HD), the webcam is one of Intel's RealSense 3D cameras. The camera is capable of capturing depth information, and thus can create 3D renderings of objects, as well as enabling gesture control.
The new Inspiron 15 laptops are available now; the 5000 model starts at $749.99, while the 7000 model starts at $1,099.99.
