You wouldn't know it by reading The Daily Plate's own news section, but the company has just announced, in so many words, that it has been acquired by Demand Media, the heavily funded and highly acquisitive company lead by former MySpace Chairman Richard Rosenblatt.
The acquisition amount has not been disclosed, but the premise behind The Daily Plate seems to fit into some of the other social sites under the Demand Media umbrella. Launched officially last July, The Daily Plate is a social site that offers features for helping people eat right on a daily basis.
