Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley offered up a forceful attack on Hillary Clinton over gun policies during Saturday's Democratic debate, but also found his own record under scrutiny.
O'Malley said the former secretary of state had been on "three sides" of the gun control issue.

"In 2000, you said that we needed federal robust regulations. In 2008 you were portraying yourself as Annie Oakley and saying that we don't need those regulations on the federal level," O'Malley said. "And now you come back around here...There's a big difference between leading by polls and leading with principle. We got it done in my state."
Earlier Saturday though, Baltimore recorded its 300th homicide of the year, giving the city its highest toll since 1999. While the statistics were not explicitly mentioned, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders did point to the city's crime spike.
"With all due respect, I think it's safe to say Baltimore is not the safest city in America," Sanders said.
O'Malley offered little response.
