For those who see "Top X" and "Best of Y" lists and think, "I could do better", new service DemoListic wants to help. The service enables users to create lists on any topic, and edit lists in a wiki style. The company tells Mashable:

Any visitor to Demolistic can create a new list topic. Should another visitor disagree with the list, they may elect to edit the list, spawning their own personalized copy. These lists are then merged together, forming a consensus. Additionally, each list has an associated message board, where comments are grouped by their associated list entry. The process is essentially a run-off election with write-ins.

It's not a new idea by any means. Amazon launched, then killed, a product called Amazon UnSpun which does much the same thing, while another great implementation of this concept - Listible - also went the way of the dodo.

But perhaps we're being too skeptical? Can you name some great user-generated lists websites? Let us know in the comments!
