Well, we all owe an apology to Jimmy Kimmel.

As it turns out, Dennis Quaid's viral rant from April 14 wasn't the angry ramblings of a Hollywood A-lister on a movie set, but actually just a prank dreamed up by the minds at Funny or Die.

Tuesday's cell phone video was just a tiny taste of the big, hilarious treat to come, which the comedy website released on April 15.

Quaid's foray in the comedy world was also jam-packed with other funny stars -- for better or for worse.

Seth Green posted a picture of Quaid demonstrating his now-infamous temper. Quaid held Green in a choke hold while comedian David Spade was powerless to stop everything from going down. Apparently this is what happens when you say "the wrong thing" to Quaid.

We wish Green a swift recovery.
