Most people dread going to the dentist. Most appointments end with unsuspected cavity announcements, followed quickly by painful tooth operations that force you to find a "mental happy place" just to avoid crying. It's a universal fear.
Dr. Dhanni Gustiana, a dentist in Java, Indonesia, reworked one of his drills to sync to an MP3 player in hopes of relieving that oh-so-common dentist-phobia.
The idea is that hearing music while a power tool grinds away at your teeth will make the experience more bearable -- or, at the very least, serve as a major distraction. Either way, "Gangnam Style" is probably a little more inviting than the sound of metal on enamel.
The device is designed specifically with kids in mind -- the body of the drill is lined with flashing lights and plastic toys -- but adults can also sign up to use it. Dr. Gustiana takes requests, too. The set-up will play anything you plug into the MP3 player. Watch the video above to learn more.
