There's a lot that goes into obtaining a Lombardi Trophy, the ever-illusive award given to the NFL team that wins the Super Bowl.

So, naturally, when the Denver Broncos upset the Carolina Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl 50, the team took extra care when bringing home its third trophy in franchise history.

Except, not really. The Broncos tweeted an adorable glimpse of the trophy's trip home, but it's missing one minor detail.

WHO FORGOT TO FASTEN THE SEATBELT?

Yes, the trophy was likely peacefully resting after a long night of being bathed in confetti and champagne. Maybe they just didn't want to disturb it. But the accompanying caption even reads: "Securely fastened."

C'mon, Denver, safety first.

It appears, however, the trophy didn't stick in that seat too long. The Broncos later tweeted a photo of the silver, finger-smudged trophy in a much more secure location: the hands of their coach, Gary Kubiak.

Hold it close, Gary.
