Derek Jeter played the final home game of his 20-year Major League Baseball career at Yankee Stadium on Thursday night.
After months of relentless hype, fans were finally treated to the one moment they'd been waiting for: Jeter's final exit from the field where he became a baseball legend, 14-time All-Star and five-time World Series champion after first cracking the Yankees' big-league squad as a 20-year-old way back in 1995.

The moment didn't disappoint, as Jeter hit a walk-off single in his final game to secure the Yankees a win in the 9th inning. For someone who always came up big in the most important moments, it was a perfect finale indeed.
Here's the magical hit.
Jeter was pumped to drive in the winning run.
His dad was ecstatic.
His teammates mobbed him.
He paid the fans some respect.
And shared a moment with pops.
And his nephew had the perfect tribute.
"I'm going to miss everything, but mostly I'm going to miss the fans," he said, emotionally. "They're what made this special."
Derek Jeter, a baseball legend if ever there was one.
