DesignerPages Offers Social Network for Architects & Suppliers

DesignerPages is a new B2B social network for architecture and design professionals that offers a central meting place for the tracking of projects, bookmarking products, and promoting products. The site is currently in private beta.

There are two types of profiles you can create--one for designers, and one for suppliers. Both are needed in order for this social marketplace to work well, as suppliers are essentially providing much of th content that designers are using for their projects. Designers can create projects, and search for items to be added to their projects. From there you can track an individual item, get additional information on an item, and check out the supplier's website within DesignerPages with an iFrame view.

Projects can be shared with other users, and permissions can be set for those you share your projects with. I imagine this could be useful for freelance designers that create items for clients, or even a small team of designers working together.

For suppliers, tracking metrics are made available so they can see how many designers are using teir items for various projects, and how they're being shared across the network. This allows suppliers to determine the best products to be marketed on the site, and how to best promote it on the site.
