Finally an acquisition that everyone can understand: online dictionary, encyclopedia and wiki aggregator Answers.com is acquiring Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com and Reference.com for $100 million, the company is announcing today. All three sites are owned by Lexico Publishing Group, which reported revenues of $7 million in 2006; the deal will be closed by the fall.
