Digg Introduces Fully Threaded Comments

Only a couple of days ago we've written about a Greasemonkey hack which allows for more than 1 level of nesting for Digg's comments, and now Digg seems to have added the feature natively. We say "seems to" because after Digg's maintenance downtime, the feature has been on and off, and it currently doesn't work. However, it's still visible on some Digg stories, such as this one.

It's interesting to note that in the last couple of hours at least two different comment systems appeared; one was automatically hiding replies in the thread, while the other, shown in the screenshot below, simply allows comments to be nested several levels below the first one.

The feature itself is nothing revolutionary; it would actually be more interesting to find out why did Digg wait so long to introduce one of the most often sought for features - and how the hell they managed to rush it in the end.
