Digg Trademark - Lucasfilm has opposed the Digg trademark, suggesting the name could be confused with "The Dig", a 1995 video game. The opposition was filed on February 5th, and it's probably just a case of a company moving to protect its trademark so it doesn't lose it in the future (you lose your trademarks if you don't make efforts to protect them). $5.8 Billion Video Market - A new report says that the online video market will be worth $5.8 Billion by 2011. what's interesting is that only $1.7 billion is attributed to ads: $4.1 billion will come from sales of movie and TV downloads. Perhaps mainstream audiences are more inclined to pay for content than us geeks, who are already suffering from media saturation.

Roblox - Roblox is a neat idea: a virtual world that looks a lot like Lego. Build, invent, trade and battle with other players. The company is in the news today for raising angel funding - founder and CEO David Baszucki provided some seed funding to Friendster, and the world currently has 15 thousand users. But while the idea is good, I'm not so convinced by the execution: it seems to require a download, which makes it more like Second Life than Habbo Hotel. (via)

OthersOnline - This social toolbar just raised angel funding, we're told. It burns my eyes.
