13 Disney Princesses in Pop Culture-Inspired Costumes

If you invited the Disney princesses to a Halloween party, how many would come as superheroes (or villains)?

Artist Isaiah Stephens envisions at least three. Stephens outfitted the classic Disney icons as heroines from contemporary literature and TV shows as well as the world of comics.

He was drawn to the princesses as subjects because they're relatable."I chose Disney princesses as the base of the project because, as a whole, I think they appeal to varying types of girls/women," says Stephens. "With their personalities, their faults, their dreams."

Even though the costumed princesses exude girl power in their chosen costumes, Stephens thinks they can appeal to women and men.

"Deep down, I think that everybody, even us guys, can relate to something about them in some way."

Maybe next year the princesses will get together for some group costumes. They could put together an awesome set of Spice Girls.
