The happiest place on Earth has had enough.

Beginning Tuesday, selfie sticks will be banned at all four Disney theme parks in Orlando, as well as at Disney's water parks and Disney Quest, a gaming attraction at Downtown Disney. Beginning July 1, the ban will also be enforced at Disneyland in California, and at the theme parks in Paris and Hong Kong.

Any sticks brought to the park by visitors will be confiscated at bag check. Officials said guests will be able to pick up the selfie sticks when they leave the park; they'll also have the option of taking them back to their cars or hotel rooms.

"We strive to provide a great experience for the entire family, and unfortunately selfie sticks have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and cast," Disney World spokeswoman Kim Prunty told the Orlando Sentinel.

The parks previously tried less drastic measures, posting signs outside rides that warned guests not to try to use sticks while on board.

But apparently the warnings haven't gone far enough.

Selfie sticks were one of the most popular stocking stuffers last year, but halfway through 2015, the items are drawing more and more criticism. Museums, music festivals and sports venues have banned the sticks after injuries and incidents.
