Disney Parks have been characteristically secretive about the planned Star Wars lands at both the Anaheim, California, and Orlando, Florida, theme parks, but progress on the new attractions is afoot.

In January, Disneyland, in Anaheim, will close 10 attractions and eateries to start to make room for the largest expansion in the park's 60-year history.

The Big Thunder attractions -- including Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland, Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue, Big Thunder Ranch petting zoo and Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree -- will close permanently on Jan. 10.

In addition to those permanent closures, the following will be closed temporarily: Fantasmic, the Mark Twain Riverboat, the Sailing Ship Columbia, the Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, the Disneyland Railroad and the Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Despite the closures, theme park visitors hoping for a discount while a significant part of the park is under construction are out of luck.

While Star Wars fans wait for the full "lands" to be constructed, there are already plenty of movie-themed activities available at the parks, including Jedi training for kids and Hyperspace Mountain.

And if you're not a Star Wars fan, there's always the Harry Potter theme park, coming soon from Universal.
