Looking at Randy Scott Slavin's photographs is a mind-bending experience. With upside-down buildings, curving horizons and spherical scenery, the photos put a twist on everyday locales.

Slavin's two photographic series, Alternative Perspectives Series 1 and Alternative Perspectives Series 2, transform ordinary landscapes into unusual, dreamlike scenes. The series bring a different perception of the world through digital manipulation.

"My work as a commercial and music video director always gives me reason to look for new and interesting photographic techniques [...] Spherical panoramas led me to the world of stereographic projection (which is the mapping of a spherical image onto a flat plane)," Slavin told Mashable.

Slavin found influence for his surreal panoramas in the works of M. C. Escher, but mostly, he was inspired by the very environments he photographed.

"Truthfully, I just love shooting -- music videos, commercials, landscapes, people, animals, whatever," he said. "The Alternate Perspectives series was always just an excuse to take my camera on long hikes in awesome places."

Prints from both of the Alternative Perspectives series, including a limited number of signed copies, are available on Slavin's website. Slavin also works as a commercial and music video director and is currently developing his first feature film.
