He may not have a plan, but at least he's got a Clara -- and one Maisie Williams.
The new trailer for Season 9 of Doctor Who has everything from a city full of Daleks to the Doctor shredding it on a guitar, as you do when you're saving the world.

"He hasn't got a plan yet," Clara says in the trailer, "but he will have. And it'll be spectacular."
Whovians, of course, know that a plan-less Doctor is nothing new -- and nothing to worry about, at that. In fact, a "just wing it" Doctor has always been the recipe for the best shenanigans. After all, can you really have a step-by-step game plan for saving the universe?
As with most Doctor Who trailers, this new one features a whole lot of running, a lot of aliens and a little bit of Dalek.
There's also a bit of the Doctor's nemesis, Michelle Gomez's delightfully unhinged Missy (also known as The Master) -- who's popped in on the adventure to say hello. Needless to say, the Doctor is most definitely not looking for her, as he successfully vanquished her in the Season 8 finale.
The cross-fandom treat, however, is Game of Thrones's Maisie Williams, whose role is still under wraps. All we know so far is that she won't be playing a returning character when she guests on Doctor Who.
She will, however, share the screen with Jenna Coleman's Clara.
Season 8 left off with an ambiguous ending for the Doctor and his companion. Their relationship was slightly repaired in the subsequent Christmas special. But if this one-minute teaser is anything to go by, it looks like they're well on their way back to their good old dynamic; Clara trusts that the Doctor knows what he's doing even when he doesn't.
