LONDON -- A couple from the Isle of Wight doubled their lottery winnings thanks to their dog.

Jane and Alan Slater won £149,089 (around $230,000) on the EuroMillions draw on Sept. 29, and had barely got over the shock when their labrador retriever Ruby dislodged a second winning ticket from a catalogue in the back of their car for the same amount.

Jane Slater, who works as a hospital catering assistant, said they were heading home from a walk on Ruby's second birthday when they made the discovery. The dog disturbed a piece of paper, which floated down to her owner's feet.

"I really can't explain the way this piece of paper floated," she said. "It was like you see in slow-motion in films, as though someone wanted me to notice it."

"We both burst into tears when we saw the second ticket was also a winner," her husband said. "It all happened in such a magical way."

The numbers on the tickets -- 11, 14, 26, 29, 49 and Lucky Star number three -- are the same digits the couple has used for 20 years.

Extra treats are on the way to Ruby and the couple's other dog, a border collie called Kai.
