Don Draper did not die in the Mad Men series finale, despite what many dreaded or hoped for, depending on your take on the show's smooth-talking, hot mess of an anti-hero.

Despite opening up with a high speed desert drive, this was no Mad Men: Fury Road. Instead, Don went on a spiritual journey in California to finally buy what someone else was selling for a change.

We left Don while in the midst of an apparent enlightenment, with the sea breeze whipping through his hair. But fans aren't content to let the story end there -- Don Draper is meant bounce aggressively between fits of brilliance and self destruction, not chill out on some beach.
